National Commands and Operational Center Approved Covid-19 booster shots, in Pakistan for health care workers, immunocomromised people and those aged over 50 years. National Commands and Operational Center (NCOC) take this step of approval to avoid spread of new Coronavirus variant Omicron.
National Commands and Operational Center (NCOC) approve booster shots in Pakistan but NCOC did not tell which vaccine would be used as booster shot. But NCOC say that booster shots would be free and administered six months after the last vaccine dose.
During meeting NCOC discussed epidemic curve chart data for Pakistan, the national vaccine strategy and Covid-19 prevalence across the country. It also discussed cities progress in vaccinating their residents against Covid-19.
During the meeting representatives from provinces rise a point in front of NCOC about Omicron variant of Coronavirus, and said that we need to take necessary measures at airports to check vaccination status as well as testing of travellers.
At the end of meeting National Commands and Operational Center (NCOC) decided to take strict action to enforce the "obligatory vaccination regime" from December 1st and directed the provinces and authorities to adopt a zero tolerance policy regarding its implementation.
